We told you Google was coming to Detroit. Now it’s official, as the tech giant becomes the first office user not affiliated with the Illitch family to take up space in The District Detroit.
Google will move more than 100 employees into its new, 29,178-square-foot office next to Little Caesar’s Arena (see picture above).
“The city of Detroit has a rich history of culture and innovation, and we’re excited to be a part of its world class talent and world class companies,” said Google’s Danielle Russell and Guy Schueller in a joint statement yesterday. “Our new space will not only provide room for future growth, but it will also give us the opportunity to contribute to the dynamic economic and community activity happening in Detroit.”
