Fortune, Brookings, CNN Money, Tech Republic, The Verge, AOL Finance and FORBES have all called Detroit ‘The Next Silicon Valley.’
It seems Google agrees. The tech behemoth announced Tuesday, October 10, 2017, that it would be relocating its Birmingham, AL, office to Downtown Detroit.
“There’s so much energy in this city — so much creativity, innovation and hard work — we can’t wait to be part of the day to day action and to grow with downtown Detroit,” Danielle Russell, head of Google Detroit, said in a statement. “We’ve been growing in cities all over the country, and there’s something special happening in Detroit.”
