Realtor.com’s Market Hotness Index gauges the health of the real estate market in the largest 300 metropolitan areas in the country. The most recent index, from August, lists Detroit at #5 in the nation, behind only four metro areas in California. The temperature: “Very Hot.”
During this time period, the median listing time in the City was 39 days (a little more than a month), compared to the national median of 66 (more than two months); Detroit’s listings were viewed twice as often as the national average.
