Kid Rock, the Michigan-born rapper and musician who’s often associated himself with the Motor City, might be leaving Detroit. He recently listed his 1930 home in the Joseph Berry Subdivision through Skyline Realty Group for $2.2 million. Rock bought the 6,000-square-foot American colonial in 2012 for $300,000.
The house sits on the East Riverfront and has direct access to the Detroit River. It comes with a boathouse that has jet ski lifts and two outdoor TVs. Inside, there’s six bedrooms, a recreation room with a poker table and wet bar, and a very red dining room. It’s gotten some renovations in the recent past, including a new kitchen and, we assume, the metal ceiling tiles on the second floor.
He decorated the home with accoutrements fitting for his outspoken and sometimes controversial political views. You’ll find numerous American flags (including a Betsy Ross Flag), a framed Declaration of Independence, and images and statues depicting Jesus Christ and George Washington.
